Review: Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas

Glamorous, elegant, family-friendly and fun are what come to mind when talking about Royal Caribbean’s newest ship: Freedom of the Seas. Determined to make Freedom the most innovative and adventurous ship of its fleet, Royal Caribbean built Freedom to be the largest passenger ship ever, then added one-of-a-kind features sure to impress.

Let the Adventure Begin

One of the most talked about activities is the Flowrider . This exciting surfing ride gives the feeling of hanging ten on a Maui wave, all right from onboard Freedom. Grab a board and catch a wave. It’s easy to learn and fun to master.

North Up the Pacific Coast - Vision of the Seas Review

So call me a Negative Nelly or whatever they call someone who sees the negative in things, but I cannot ignore the negatives, and to be fair, I shouldn t. So Let me state up front that this review will have some negative points in it, but let me also state that we did enjoy our cruise and would do it again.

Our first cruises were on the Royal Caribbean Monarch of the Seas and the Carnival Paradise. Both of these ships did cruises out of Los Angeles (Long Beach) to Catalina and Ensenada. It turns out that we should not have had lowered our expectations that much, the cruise ship had its full crew and the entertainment scheduled was for a 7 night cruise while we were on a 5 night cruise, this gave us more entertainment choices not that we needed entertaining since we found ways to entertain ourselves, boy

I have a new novel forthcoming which deals with rice queens. Most of my fictional activities are chronicled on my website www.senneffhouse.com . Every once in a while I like to go back to where I started as a writer in the field of travel writing. My roots. I particularly like travel writing with bits of humor interspersed. Here s a sample:

Formal Cruise Wear Night - the Agony and the Ecstasy!

Formal night on the cruise - The agony and the ecstasy! How better to describe the romantic night when cruise passengers don their best formal cruise wear and strut their stuff?

For some men, it’s the agony of picking out your finest formal cruise wear, carefully packing them in your suitcase, unpacking and un-wrinkling them, and then, worst of all .. having to put the threads on. For other men, it’s the romantic ecstasy of seeing your dazzling beauty dressed in her finest, and walking arm-in-arm through the elegant dining room.
